Dear colleagues,

At a time when minimally invasive pediatric surgery has evolved as standard technique, training remains a challenge. Training can be enriched by workshops using realistic biological models similar to clinical conditions. Therefore, we want to invite you to an international workshop and hands-on course for minimally invasive pediatric surgery.Initially, basic techniques of access, exposure, suturing and knotting in small cavities will be trained on chicken and rat models. The workshop is focused on specific abdominal, thoracic and even esophageal minimally
invasive procedures. We guarantee that participants will be able to perform numerous operations, such as fundoplicatio, nephrectomy or splenectomy themselves. The facility at the Aesculap Academy training center in Berlin is excellent and fulfills all needs for such a workshop.

Program:

Two day hands-on course on living rats and a
chicken model? Specific anatomy, basic techniques of access, exposure,
suturing and knotting in small spaces? Fundoplication, nephrectomy, splenectomy,
bowel anastomosis, diaphragmatic reconstruction,
esophageal anastomosis? Full equipment and more than one expert for every
two operation tables? Video presentations and discussion of specific
operations by faculty members
